Police looking for suspect in stabbing outside House of Charity

Spokane police were searching for a suspect Monday afternoon after a man was stabbed in front of the House of Charity homeless shelter on West Pacific Avenue.

Officer Kyle Yrigollen said in a news release that the stabbing was reported at about 12:30 p.m. but the suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived minutes later. The victim was hospitalized; police did not describe the extent of his injuries.

Yrigollen said police were following up on leads and might release a description of the suspect at a later time. He asked witnesses and others with information about the shooting to report it to Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
