Sleep Inn hotel slated near Spokane International

A $6.5 million, 51,400-square-foot, three-story hotel will be built near the Spokane International Airport, according to Spokane County permit data.

The hotel, at 3809 S. Geiger Road, will be just north of Interstate 90 off the Grove Road exit. The hotel will sit adjacent to the Best Western Plus Peppertree Airport Inn, Denny’s Restaurant and Pilot Flying J gas station.

Records list the hotel name as Sleep Inn, which is part of a large chain of more than 6,000 hotels that includes Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn, is owned by Choice Hotels. County documents also note the project will include a restaurant.

The owner of the land and developer of the project is listed in county documents as H&H Hospitality Spokane. County parcel data shows the company as based in Coeur d’Alene, but state records show addresses for the company and its agents in San Diego, Sacramento and Olympia.

The general contractor on the project is North Dakota-based Consolidated Construction.

Washington Trust to remodel downtown offices

Washington Trust Bank is planning an extensive interior remodel at its operations center on Post Street in downtown Spokane.

According to permits issued by the city, the $1.65 million remodel will redo every floor of the three-story office building, reconfigure the spaces and will include mechanical and electrical upgrades.

The work is being done by Associated Construction Inc. and is designed by Wolfe Architectural Group.

The bank is also currently doing extensive work on the Ridpath Annex, including demolition of the old hotel’s upper floors.

Details outlined for online retailer etailz pending move

Etailz is moving out of downtown Spokane and into new space it’s renovating in the Spokane Business and Industrial Park in Spokane Valley, where the company has signed a multiyear lease.

According to permits from the city of Spokane Valley, the online marketer is doing nearly $500,000 in work to a 27,820-square-foot facility at 2818 N. Sullivan Road. The company expects the renovations to be done by July. The building will have other tenants, so the $500,000 may not be coming solely from etailz.

SDS Construction Management is the project’s general contractor. It was designed by Architectural Ventures.
