Key Tronic gets contact to make “smart-home” doorbells

Key Tronic Corp. has landed a contract to manufacture Wi-Fi video doorbell products for SkyBell Technologies.

Production is expected to ramp up over the next several quarters. In time, SkyBell could represent 10 percent or more of the Spokane Valley company’s total revenue, said Craig Gates, Key Tronic’s president and CEO, in a news release.

SkyBell holds patents for “smart-home” products, including video doorbells that allow homeowners to speak to visitors on their doorstep from a mobile device, no matter where they are, according to its website. The Irvine, California-based company sells its products in the U.S. and Europe.

Key Tronic is a contract manufacturer with facilities in the U.S., Mexico and China.
