Flora Yogurt has stopped production.

The local, small-batch yogurt company started selling heirloom yogurt in January 2015 after a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014 raised just over $13,000.

Those funds helped proprietor Karyna Hamilton buy a custom 10-gallon pasteurizer, which she installed at Batch Bakeshop in Spokane’s West Central neighborhood.

Hamilton specialized in drinkable Bulgarian and Mediterranean heirloom yogurts, cultured buttermilk, creme fraiche, Nordic Viili and Filmjolk sold by the quart or pint in reusable glass Mason jars.

After three years of yogurt-making at Batch, Hamilton took a break from her business at the start of this year. She’s since decided to quit production for personal reasons, including spending more time with her family.
