Man severely injured in downtown Seattle hatchet attack

Associated Press

SEATTLE – Seattle police say a man was severely injured in a hatchet attack downtown.

The Seattle Police Department says witnesses told police a blue sedan pulled up to an intersection by McDonald’s at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and that two men in the car started arguing with a crowd.

Police say one of the suspects was armed with a hatchet and a baseball bat and at some point during the argument, the suspect struck the man with the hatchet.

Police say the suspects fled the area in the blue sedan. It is unknown if the suspects and victim knew each other at this time.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating.
