CHICAGO – The Texas Rangers have put left-hander Matt Moore on the 10-day disabled list with right knee soreness.

The Rangers recalled right-hander Ariel Jurado from Double-A Frisco. The 22-year-old Jurado was scheduled to start Saturday night against the Chicago White Sox in his major league debut. He was 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA in six starts for Frisco this season.

Moore has felt discomfort in the knee since spring training. He allowed five runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings on Friday night against the White Sox. He is 1-5 with a 7.99 ERA in 10 games.

“He fought through it, but just felt like it got to a point to where we have to give him time to calm down,” manager Jeff Banister said.
