If you don’t mind exchanging The Gem State for Boardwalk and Sun Valley for Pennsylvania Avenue, Idaho-opoly might be the game for you.

Created by the game makers at Late For The Sky, other Idaho-opoly features include Old Idaho Penitentiary for the Go to Jail space, free parking is “free potatoes,” and Idaho landmarks Balanced Rock, Shoshone Falls, City of Rocks, Hells Canyon and Craters of the Moon are all there. Of course, potatoes and huckleberries, also grizzly bears, appaloosa and … beavers?

Social Media Manager Jessica Staub, said the company, which is a Cincinnati family-run business, has been making custom games since 1984. “All of our games are designed and manufactured in-house, and are based on fun themes like animals, cities, colleges, bacon, zombies, and more,” Staub said. Tokens for the Idaho-centric game reflect the outdoors and include a ski with boot attached, a bicycle, a fish, a pine tree and a hiking boot.

Idaho-opoly is one of the company’s newest entries. “We are really excited about the game, it’s filled with favorite locations like the Dog Bark Park Inn, Lava Hot Springs, and Lake Priest,” Staub said. She added that “cities are not as prominently included on this board; we opted to research and include state parks, local wildlife, museums, and activities that Idaho is famous for.

“Our company began by creating -opoly games based on colleges and cities, but in the recent years we have included state-themed -opoly games as well. We are excited to create one specialized for Idaho.”

Idaho-opoly is available for purchase at Walmart stores for $19.98. If you go to the company website, the price is a bit higher, but you can also check out the other “-opoly” games, there are more than 100, including New Orleans-opoly, Paris-opoly, Seattle-opoly, and Utah-opoly.
