Valley church files permits for renovations

The Greenacres Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses has filed permits with Spokane Valley to renovate a Kingdom Hall at 18416 E. Desmet Ave.

The congregation plans to renovate a first-floor auditorium as well as add new benches, lighting, upgrades to its audio/video system and additional parking spaces along Desmet Avenue, according to the permits.

The 3,000-square-foot church was built in 1978 and appraised at $247,000, according to Spokane County assessor’s records.

The general contractor for the project is the DRB Co. LLC, of Spokane. The renovations are valued at $220,000.
