Antonia Bennett, Jason Marsalis to headline the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival

Series and individual concert tickets for the University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, which features headliners Antonia Bennett and Jason Marsalis, go on sale 9 a.m. Monday and Nov. 16, respectively.

Series tickets range from $50, for outer stand seats, to $80, for club-level seating. Those who purchase series tickets receive early seat selection and a $10 savings on individual concert ticket prices.

Tickets for individual concerts go on sale 9 a.m. Nov. 16 and range from $30-$45.

This year’s festival, Feb. 22-23, 2019, features the multiple Grammy award-winning Vanguard Jazz Orchestra and the New Lionel Hampton Big Band, featuring Marsalis on vibes and singer Bennett.

On Feb. 22, the Lionel Hampton School of Music Jazz Choir I and Jazz Band I will be joined by Paul McKee and Dawn Clement. Festival solo/combo winners will perform, then Clement, Matt Wilson and Chuck Deardorf will perform as the Dawn Clement Gratitude Trio.

On Feb. 23, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra will perform, followed by performances from festival solo/combo winners. The New Lionel Hampton Big Band, featuring Marsalis and Bennett, will then close the festival.

All evening concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Kibbie Dome.

The festival, hosted by the University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton School of Music, brings thousand of music students from across the region and internationally known jazz artists to Moscow.
