Recap and highlights: Rui Hachimura, Brandon Clarke lead Gonzaga to exhibition win over Central Washington

From staff reports

Rui Hachimura scored 23 points and Brandon Clarke added 18 as the third-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs routed DII Central Washington 108-69 in an exhibition game Thursday at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Hachimura finished 7 of 15 from the floor and 8 of 8 from the free-throw line. The junior also pulled down five rebounds.

Clarke, who sat out last season after transferring from San Jose State, was impressive in his Gonzaga debut, grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds in 16 minutes.

Clarke was inserted into the starting lineup after it was announced that Killian Tillie will miss eight weeks due to a stress fracture in his ankle.

North Dakota grad transfer Geno Crandall (eight points, four assists) and freshman forward Filip Petrusev (eight points, seven rebounds) made their debuts for the Zags.

The Bulldogs shot 54.7 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point range, but struggled at the free-throw line (29 for 46).

Jackson Price led the Wildcats with 12 points.

The Bulldogs open their regular season on Tuesday against visiting Idaho State at 6 p.m. on KHQ.
