Remains of decomposed body found near Interstate 90’s Medical Lake exit

Washington State Department of Transportation workers found a decomposed body Thursday morning near the Medical Lake off ramp of Interstate 90, on the south side of the freeway.

The body, which appeared to be an adult male, was found under a cluster of trees and was too decomposed to immediately tell if foul play was involved, said Mark Gregory, spokesman for the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner will work to identify the body and determine the cause of death.

A WSDOT worker found the remains when checking on a reported transient camp, Gregory said. They didn’t report any other people near the body when it was found.
