Police catch burglars after victim finds stolen items for sale online

Spokane Police officers arrested two men Saturday in connection with the theft of guns and guitars from cars. Police caught the suspects after the victim of the burglaries helped police find the items for sale online.

The suspects, Robert R. Yapp, 26, and Joshua A. Aune, 38, are facing felony charges after police said they found stolen items and controlled substances in their car in a parking lot near 200 E. North Foothills Drive, according to a police news release.

Police later searched a residence at 2100 E. Providence Ave. and found more stolen items, according to the release.

Yapp is facing charges of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, first-degree trafficking of stolen property and possession of stolen property.

Aune is facing charges of second-degree trafficking of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant for a charge of assault fourth-degree domestic violence.
