Spokane police investigating death of man shot during sex

Spokane police are investigating the death of a man who reportedly shot himself in the head during sex.

In a search warrant filed Nov. 8 in Spokane Superior Court, a detective wrote that at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 4, police were called to a home in the 7800 block of North Morton Avenue by a woman who said her partner had shot himself in the head. Police and medics responded and found the man dead at the scene.

The woman told officers she and the man were involved in a “sadomasochistic sexual relationship” that involved pretending to shoot themselves in the head with an unloaded revolver.

Police seized several cellphones from the residence along with a .44-caliber revolver and a box of ammunition.
