Boys basketball: Kaleb Ohler scores 20 points to pace Freeman over East Valley in season opener

Freeman 66, East Valley 54: Kaleb Ohler scored 20 points and the visiting 1A Scotties beat the 2A Knights as area teams participated in nonleague season openers across the region on Tuesday. Dylan Oja and Johnny McGuire added 11 points apiece for Freeman. Tyrell Brown had 11 points and Reece Rasmussen added 10 for East Valley.

Deer Park 61, Kettle Falls 45: Jobie Gelder tallied 25 points and 15 rebounds and the Stags defeated the visiting Bulldogs. Dawson Youngblood had 15 points and Isaac Burglund added 11 points for Deer Park.

Reardan 86, Colville 48: Cade Francis led a balanced attack with 17 points and the Indians raced past visiting Colville. Andrew Alsept added 14 points with nine assists for Reardan.

Davenport 50, Springdale 49: A.J. Floyd scored 20 points and the visiting Gorillas edged the Chargers.

Idaho

Lewiston 61, Timberlake 28: Donaven Santana scored 21 points, including five three-pointers, and the visiting Bengals defeated the Tigers. Dylan Johnson added 14 points for Lewiston.

St. Maries 61, Sandpoint 45: Jackson Pritchard had 13 points with three 3-pointers and the Lumberjacks beat the visiting Bulldogs. Tyler Lohman added eight points with eight rebounds and Kaden Hammond had four assists and six steals for St. Maries.

Genesis Prep 73, Mullan 25: Jacob Shultz scored 18 points and the visiting Jaguars defeated the Tigers in a nonleague match. Jonny Hillman added 17 points for Genesis Prep.

Wallace 68, Bonners Ferry 55: Zach Welch scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter and the visiting Miners pulled away from the Badgers in a nonleague opener.
