The Spokane Firefighters Union alerted residents Saturday that a new phone scam asking for donations to a “firefighter support fund” appears to be targeting Spokane.

The phone numbers are coming from (360) 967-0952, (253) 480-6613 and others.

“They are not affiliated with any firefighters or fire departments. Your Firefighters DO NOT conduct phone solicitations for money at any time. If you receive a call and are asked to make a donation or provide information, decline their offer and hang up,” said a statement on Facebook.

Spokane County commissioners open union contract negotiations to the public
