Slaughter for the thrill

Re: Spokesman-Review article (Northwest, Oct. 14, 2018) “Idaho Fish &Game Commissioner Blake Fischer kills entire family of Primates in Africa.”

I am appalled not only at the publication but the close-up photo of Blake Fischer and the slaughtered family of baboons. He has a big grin on his face and you can see all four defenseless creatures who were terminated just for “the thrill.”

It is sad that there are people who would do such a thing to nature’s creations. How will parents explain to their children why these baboons are sitting in front of this man? Shame on him and your publication for an almost full-page article with close-up photo!

Although legal in Africa, I find it against any Fish & Game official who is supposed to protect creatures — not destroy them. I would have trouble sleeping at night after such a cruel slaughter.

I am not an animal activist, just a person who appreciates what the universe has created for us to enjoy, not destroy. Does being legal justify a slaughter? He needs to look into his soul to find out.
