Subtle hatred is better

Take that Westboro Baptist Church, that’ll teach you. We here like our discrimination and hate speech to be homegrown and polite. None of this yelling and picketing, unless it’s about abortion rights, of course.

We do it the right way: private jokes, articles by pastors about what “God” says is bad and congregating to sing hymns and bemoan the sins of those we don’t agree with. All done pleasantly and with “Love” in our hearts for the sinners, of course.

While we do need to applaud how far we’ve come and standing up to the bad guys we need to continue to look in the mirror and get better. Just because we’re quiet about it doesn’t make it any less painful and heartbreaking for those that are deemed wrong in their truth.
