Deputies shoot suspect in Smelterville, Idaho

A man was injured early Monday morning in an officer-involved shooting in North Idaho.

The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies shot the man around midnight after responding to a suspicious persons call in Smelterville, according to a department news release. The man was transported to Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg. No deputies were injured.

The Idaho State Police are assisting in the investigation.
