Central Valley School District, teachers union reach tentative agreement

The Central Valley School District and its teachers union reached a tentative agreement in contract talks Monday, according to the Central Valley Education Association.

“We feel we have reached a fair, competitive and sustainable schedule,” the union posted on Facebook. A membership meeting was announced for Friday.

Elsewhere, teachers in the Vancouver, Ridgefield and Hockinson school districts reached tentative contract agreements, according to the Washington Education Association. Teachers in Evergreen, Battle Ground, Washougal, Tumwater and Longview remained on strike, the WEA said Monday.

Teachers in Seattle, Bethel, Mercer Island, Sumner, Camas and North Kitsap reached agreements over the weekend.
