Prep girls soccer roundup: Lindsay Balkenbush scores five times, Freeman beats Newport

Lindsay Balkenbush scored five times and Brynn Van Orden added a hat trick and the Scotties (1-0-0) shutout the visiting Grizzlies (0-2-0) 10-0 on Tuesday in a Northeast A league game.

Deer Park 4, Riverside 0: Jessie Thomas scored the first three goals and the Stags (1-0-0) beat the visiting Rams (0-1-0).

Mead 8, East Valley 2: Margo Schoesler had a hat trick and the Panthers (2-1-0) defeated the visiting Knights (1-1-0).

Gonzaga Prep 2, Lake City 1: Chelsea Le bagged two goals and the Bullpups (2-1-0) beat the Timberwolves (2-1-0).

Ferris 2, Lewiston 0: Freshman Mikaela Grezelak earned a clean sheet and the Saxons (1-1-0) shut out the visiting Bengals (2-2-0).

University 1, Cheney 0: Piper Lawson scored the only goal in the 70th minute and the Titans (1-0) beat the Blackhawks (0-1).

Mt. Spokane 5, Post Falls 0: Ally Gockley scored twice and the Wildcats (1-0-0) defeated the Trojans (2-3-0).

West Valley 2, Shadle Park 1: Frankie Shade scored two goals and the Eagles (1-0-0) defeated the visiting Highlanders (0-0-1).

Coeur d’Alene Charter 12, Priest River 0: Sarah Hines had a hat trick and the Panthers (4-0-0) coasted past the visiting Spartans (1-4-0).
