College volleyball: Host East Carolina sweeps Eastern Washington at Pirate Invitational
Toya Osuegbu finished with a match-high 12 kills Thursday to guide host East Carolina’s 3-0 sweep over Eastern Washington at the Pirate Invitational in Greenville, North Carolina.
The Pirates (6-2) trailed the second set 26-25 before scoring the final three points. East Carolina has won 12 consecutive sets for the first time in five seasons.
Kamille Langford led the Eagles (5-3) with 11 kills and four blocks. Samantha Boever added 27 assists to give her more than 20 assists in every match this season.
EWU will meet Charlotte and Gardner-Webb at the tournament Friday.
CC Spokane 3, Grays Harbor 0: Jordan Shoff and Alisha Straw had 10 kills apiece to lead the Sasquatch (7-0) past the Chokers (10-6) in nonconference play at Spokane Falls CC.
Lindsey Russell added 22 assists and Alleana Gallagher 10 digs for the Sasquatch.
