Women’s soccer: Eastern Washington blanks Colorado State on the road

Brittany Delridge and Brooke Dunbar scored their first goals of the season Friday to lift Eastern Washington to a 2-0 nonconference women’s soccer win over Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Delridge, a redshirt freshman, followed Emma Vanderhyden’s rebound to break a scoreless tie in the 22nd minute.

Freshman Bailee Nelson assisted on Dunbar’s insurance goal in the 86th minute.

EWU’s Kelsee Winston recorded five saves for the shutout.

The Eagles (3-2-1) also defeated the Rams (1-2-2) in the only other matchup between the teams.

Gonzaga 2, Cal Poly 2 (OT): Madeline Gotta’s first goal of the season, coming in the 93rd minute, gave the Bulldogs (3-1-1) a nonconference win over the visiting Mustangs (0-4-2).

India Jencks’ third goal of the season allowed GU to tie the match at 1 at 66:02.

CC Spokane 7, Blue Mountain 0: Cheris Brown scored the first two goals, both before the 10-minute mark, and the Sasquatch (3-2-1) opened Northwest Athletic Conference play by beating the Timberwolves (1-2) at Spokane Falls CC.

CCS outshot the Timberwolves 20-0.

North Idaho 4, Treasure Valley 1: Sofia Schnepf scored twice to guide the Cardinals (1-2-2) past the visiting Chukars (2-3-0) in another NWAC opener.

Schnepf’s first goal, unassisted at 72 minutes, snapped a 1-all tie. After Ashley Camacho added a goal for NIC, Schnepf headed in Linnea Pretzer’s corner kick at 85 minutes to complete the scoring.
