The pick: Why Washington State will beat – err, blast – San Jose State

PULLMAN – Washington State fans may have to stick around until midnight to see the final play of Saturday’s game, but many will leave some three hours earlier knowing the Cougars have stashed away their eighth straight win at Martin Stadium. Trey Tinsley, Anthony Gordon and Cammon Cooper may want to stick around, though. After Gardner Minshew builds a resounding first-half lead, the Cougars’ starter might get a series or two in the third quarter before he’s yanked permanently. One could spend hours dissecting each of the ways in which Washington State is a better football team than San Jose State. We won’t.

The pick: Washington State 52, San Jose State 17.
