Women’s golf: Sophie Hausmann leads Idaho to fifth place at tournament in Colorado
Sophie Hausmann placed eighth and led Idaho’s women’s golf team to fifth place Wednesday at the 13-team Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Hausmann shot a final-round 1-under-par 71 to complete three rounds at the Ptarmigan Country Club in 1-over 217, seven shots behind Boise State’s Tara Finigan.
Vandals teammate Valeria Patino tied for 10th at 3-over 219.
Idaho finished at 27-over 891, 12 shots behind champion Boise State.
- Kirsten Ishikawa became the second consecutive Eastern Washington women’s golfer to earn Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week. Ishikawa, a first-time honoree, shared medalist honors Tuesday with teammate Alexa Clark at the Challenge at The Coeur d’Alene Resort. Both finished at 3-over-par 147. Clark took last week’s conference award after finishing as medalist at the Battle of Old Works in Anaconda, Montana.
