How else and who else?

Colin Kaepernick chose to take a stand and draw attention to the fact that our law enforcement system has been shown to use a wide range of standards when protecting our streets.

Instead of being embraced for his brave, peaceful form of protest, he lost his job and endured public ridicule.

Instead of supporting his message, so much energy has been wasted on his form of protest. His action has been used to justify more vicious conflict. He did not take up arms or build a bomb. How else should he have shown his disgust with the wasted lives?

If not someone with his status as a professional athlete with an audience of millions, who then is taking a stand for all the young men being shot down in our streets?

Colin Kaepernick was brave in his protest and does not deserve to be bullied. Kudos to Nike!

Shame on those who shamed him. That’s un-American.
