Can’t vote, don’t matter

It’s easy to understand Trump’s disdain and open dislike of the Puerto Rican people. As an unincorporated territory, Puerto Ricans aren’t able to vote in presidential elections. Being unable to vote for or against him, they have no value to him at all. Why should he pander to our fellow countrymen, when the cost outweighs the benefit?

It’s yet another example of Trump’s nationalist beliefs, helping hurricane-devastated states recover while stingily helping Puerto Rico. Our non-voting citizens to the south don’t represent real Americans to Trump.

If only Puerto Rico could achieve statehood before 2020, so they could properly express their gratitude to Trump for hindering their recovery. I’m certain he has very few fans in Puerto Rico. Why should they be different from the rest of the world?
