Inslee ignores Prop. 1631

We, the people of Washington state, rejected the carbon tax, known as Prop. 1631, in the last November election.

Now, Washington Sen. Steve Hobbs (D), wants to tax workers and families with a 15 cent-per-gallon increase on gas (Feb. 22,2019, “Senate leader proposes carbon tax …”).

As an independent, it has become absolutely clear to me that the Democrats have no interest in supporting the middle class.

As a taxpayer, my taxes are already through the roof. Washington taxpayers have, emphatically let Gov. Inslee know what we think of his carbon tax, (“Initiative 1631, which included a carbon fee, lost in 36/39 counties last Nov….”Feb. 22).

Why would Gov. Inslee run for the presidency, as the carbon tax candidate, when it failed, miserably, in his own state?
