Rui’s greatest hits: Four games that cemented a Gonzaga legacy

On Monday, Rui Hachimura became the ninth player in Gonzaga history to declare early for the NBA draft, joining Paul Rogers (1997), Adam Morrison (2006), Austin Daye (2009), Kelly Olynyk (2013), Domantas Sabonis (2016), Nigel Williams-Goss (2017), Zach Collins (2017) and Johnathan Williams III (2017). (Note: Johnathan Williams did not sign with an agent and eventually returned for his senior season.)

Among Rui’s greatest games as a Zag:

– March 17, 2017 against Ohio State: Scored 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting in 90-84 second-round NCAA win over Buckeyes.

Nov. 6, 2018 against Idaho State: Scored a career-high 33 points in just 24 minutes, making 13 of 18 from the floor in a 120-79 rout.

Nov. 21, 2018 against Duke: Had 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks in season-defining 89-87 victory over Blue Devils in championship game of Maui Classic.

Dec. 5, 2018 against Washington: Hit game-winning jumper with .6 seconds left and finished with 26 points in 81-79 thriller over Huskies.
