Miller dealership employees to mark 10 years of Day of Service

More than 80 employees from three Larry H. Miller dealerships in Spokane will assist the Salvation Army by assembling bunk beds, sorting and organizing donations and helping with yard work at community garden and activity areas.

The 10th annual Day of Service event, 7:30 a.m.-noon on April 26 at Northeast Community Center, honors company founder Larry H. Miller, who died in 2009. The Miller family and LHM Group employees carry on his legacy to “go about doing good until there’s too much good in the world,” according to a news release.

Since 2010, more than 11,740 employees have donated 45,965 hours at more than 200 locations in seven states.

Colton dental care to offer free dentistry services for a day

Dr. Bryan Correll and staff members of Colton Complete Dental Care, Dr. Gregory Frahm of North Hill Dentistry and Dr. Bryan Anderson of South Stone Dental Care, will offer free dental services to Spokane-area residents on May 3.

Services during Free Dentistry Day will be offered at Colton Complete Dental Care, 9302 N. Colton St., Suite 202, in north Spokane.

Each patient can choose either a free cleaning, filling or extraction from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

Jersey Mike’s raises $15K to benefit Providence Pediatrics Clinic

Jersey Mike’s Subs celebrated its 10th annual month of giving in March to raise money for charities nationwide.

This year, two Spokane Jersey Mike’s locations raised a total of $15,135 to donate to Providence Health Care Foundation to support the Reach Out and Read program at Providence Pediatrics Clinic.

Barrels and Brews again at home and garden event

Barrels and Brews will be at the Spokane Home and Garden Show today.

Tickets include admission, five beer or wine tastings and a tasting glass. The ticket also includes a chance to win a $10,000 custom-built deck and $5,000 in outdoor furniture donated by Dynamic Decks and Jacobs Custom Living.

The event is 5-8 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center.

Latah County foundation offers up to $3,000 per grant applicant

The Latah County Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from Latah County nonprofits until Monday.

Applicants must be a public charity with tax-exempt status, including school districts and municipalities or be a public entity. Applicants may apply for up to $3,000.
