For the first time in eight years, the Eastern Washington men’s basketball team will face national power Gonzaga.

The EWU athletic department confirmed Saturday that the Eagles will face the Bulldogs at the McCarthey Athletic Center during the 2019-2020 season.

The game is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 21.

EWU and Gonzaga played each other almost annually before the game was discontinued in 2012. The Bulldogs haven’t lost since 1990.

Gonzaga won the last meeting 77-69 on Nov. 11, 2011, at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
