Area roundup: Nate Pryor, Emmitt Taylor lead hot-shooting NIC over Treasure Valley

Nate Pryor scored 24 points, Emmitt Taylor added 23 points and North Idaho routed Treasure Valley 123-77 Saturday in Coeur d’Alene.

Jarod Greene tacked on 17 points and RayQuan Evans scored 12 for the Cardinals (13-2, 2-0 NWAC), who shot 73.5 percent (50 of 68) from the floor and had six scorers in double figures.

Dajon Howe led all scorers with 26 points for the Chukars (3-9, 1-1).

CC Spokane 100, Big Bend 87: Dedrick Pakootas tallied 21 points, including 4 of 4 on 3-pointers, as the Sasquatch (11-4, 2-0 NWAC) bested the Vikings (10-3, 0-2) at Spokane Falls CC.

Garrett White added 15 points and Asher Cox scored 14 for CCS.

Joey Andrews paced Big Bend with 22 points.

Women’s basketball

Savannah Smith totaled 22 points and Northern Colorado pulled away to defeat Idaho 86-72 in Moscow.

Krystal Leger-Walker added 19 points for the Bears (8-4, 3-0 Big Sky).

Mikayla Ferenz scored 28 points to lead the Vandals (6-7, 3-1). Ferenz now has 2,008 career points. She became the second Idaho player to eclipse the 2,000-point mark.

North Idaho 90, Treasure Valley 80: Heidi Sellman notched 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting as the Cardinals (11-3, 1-1 NWAC) beat the Chukars (9-6, 1-1) in Coeur d’Alene.

Alex Carlton added 17 points for NIC, which shot 63.2 percent (36 of 57) from the field.

Lillie Smith led Treasure Valley with 26 points.

Big Bend 72, CC Spokane 46: Kayla Luke scored 19 points to lead the Vikings (12-2, 1-0 NWAC) over the Sasquatch (11-2, 0-1) at Spokane Falls CC.

Leah Dougherty, Miranda Johnson, Kelsey Sorenson and Anna Yarbro scored 10 points apiece for Big Bend.

Koyama Young led CCS with 14 points. Alexia Novelli added 10 points and seven rebounds.
