Free presentation to focus on history of area skiing Jan. 17

The author of a book uncovering Spokane’s rich skiing history will give a free presentation Jan. 17 starting at 7 p.m.

Cris Currie, who wrote “Spokane’s History of Skiing,” will show photos from his book and talk about it.

The event is free and will be held at Mountain Gear, 2002 N. Division St.

All proceeds from Currie’s book go toward the Friends of Mt. Spokane State Park nonprofit.
