For now, show respect
Every man and woman who has served in the military knows the mandatory protocol of saluting.
Enlisted personnel salute all officers, officers salute each other, and officers are required to return the salute. What is the basis of this procedure? Acknowledgement, recognition, and respect for the recognized rank, regardless of one’s personal opinion of the person wearing that rank.
Where is the respect by the media shown to the president of the United States who holds the highest rank of all citizens in this country? The media, in general, feel they have free rein to continuously denigrate and belittle the man who was elected to that position by the people of this country. When they refer to him, they say, “Trump did this” or “Trump said that,” and always portray him in a negative fashion. What about “President Trump said this or did that”?
Too many people seem to feel better by putting someone else down, anyone, and the president is their favorite target.
Enough already! Give the man a chance, and if you don’t like what he has accomplished during his allocated time, vote for someone else. But for now, show some respect.
