Gonzaga Prep’s Anton Watson and Texas forward Drew Timme, key members of Gonzaga’s 2019 recruiting class, weren’t selected for the McDonald’s All-American game.

Watson and Timme were nominated but didn’t make the list of 24 high school seniors on the West and East team rosters announced Thursday. Watson is ranked No. 56 on ESPN.com’s top 100. Timme, a 6-foot-9 center at J.J. Pearce High in Richardson, Texas, is No. 46.

Jaden McDaniels, a forward at Federal Way, was the lone representative from Washington. Arizona had two commitments on the West roster. USC commit Isaiah Mobley, a Rancho Christian (California) teammate of GU 2020 commit Dominick Harris, made the West roster.

Four Zags have played in the McDonald’s All-American game. Zach Collins is the only one who came to Gonzaga directly from high school (Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas). Collins, GU’s only one-and-done NBA draft pick, played in the 2016 game.

Nigel Williams-Goss (2013), Kyle Wiltjer (2011) and Micah Downs (2005), three Zags who began their careers at other schools, also played in the prestigious game.

Three area girls were nominated for the game but not selected: Mt. Spokane’s Aspyn Adams and Emily Nelson, and Lewis and Clark’s Jacinta Buckley.
