More difference makers

The series in the Spokesman-Review titled “Difference Makers” was refreshing and welcome reading. In a news world where unprincipled and sometimes violent behavior and strident voices seem to dominate, a message highlighting people who make a positive influence in our communities was uplifting!

The title and stories made me reflect on the difference makers in my life over the past several years. As my husband’s illness progressed and his care needs increased, neighbors stepped forward to help us in many ways small and large - with gifts of warm baked cookies, cheerful visits and greetings, assistance when help was needed to lift him off the floor, staying with him so I could make a quick trip to the pharmacy or grocery store, offering a listening ear, and snow shoveling – oh my, the amount of snow removal that was done for us!

So – to Curt and Rachelle Mulder and sons, Dale and Cindy McHargue, Steve and Wende Fisk and Kaden, Ben and Jen Hart and family – a sincere thank you for making such a difference in our lives. You are difference makers!
