Girls basketball: Genesis Wilkinson scores 13 points, East Valley still in league title chase

Genesis Wilkinson scored 13 points and visiting East Valley (17-2, 9-2) rolled past Cheney (7-11, 3-7) 66-51 on Tuesday in a Great Northern League game.

Holly Flynn and Brie Holececk added 10 points apiece for East Valley. Emma Evans led Cheney with 13 points; Maggie Smith and Hailey Pemberton added 12 apiece.

West Valley 55, Pullman 46: Jillian Taylor scored 13 points and the Eagles (11-7, 5-5) bested the visiting Greyhounds (4-15, 0-11). Hailey Marlow added 12 points for West Valley. Tianah Sanders scored 17 points, Rian Clear 15 and Meghan McSweeney 10 for Pullman.

Northeast A

Freeman 62, Riverside 27: Bradee Parisotto scored 15 points and the Scotties (15-4, 10-1) beat the visiting Rams (4-15, 0-11). Jordyn Goldsmith added 14 points for Freeman.

Medical Lake 57, Newport 27: Jessica Lohman scored 14 points and the visiting Cardinals (14-5, 10-1) defeated the Grizzlies (3-15, 1-10). Lexie Redell added 12 points for Medical Lake. McKinley Leslie led Newport with 12 points.

Colville 46, Lakeside (WA) 42: Hallie Cox and McKenna Reggear scored 11 points apiece and the Indians (11-9, 7-5) defeated the visiting Eagles (6-13, 4-7). Kendra Gay led Lakeside with 15 points and Rylee Thomas added 12. Kassi Brooks had 10 points for Colville.

Northeast 2B

Liberty 71, Reardan 29: Maisie Burnham scored 30 points and the Lancers (18-2, 9-1) defeated the visiting Indians (8-9, 5-4). Emma Wiedmer led Reardan with 12 points, while Aleena Cook scored 15 points for Liberty. Emma Howlwegner scored 11 points for Liberty, while Kimberly Dewey scored 10 points for Reardan.

Davenport 58, Chewelah 23: Janaye Wilkie scored 16 points and the Gorillas (16-3, 8-1) defeated the visiting Cougars (10-9, 3-6). Alyssa Fitzgerald led Chewelah with 10 points, while Lainy Jacobsen scored 13 points for Davenport. Darby Soliday added 11 points for Davenport.

Wilbur-Creston 52, Springdale 24: McKenzie Arden scored 20 points and the Wildcats (5-11) downed the visiting Chargers (2-13) in a nonleague game.

Northeast 1B

Inchelium 63, Northport 38: Rylee Desautel scored 26 points and the Hornets (13-7, 10-5) defeated the visiting Mustangs (9-10, 7-8). Kylie Corocran scored 14 points for Northport, while Meika Heath scored 13 points for Inchelium.

Curlew 54, Cusick 23: Korin Baker scored 14 points and the Cougars (10-6, 10-5) defeated the visiting Panthers (2-15, 2-13). Claire LaDue added 10 points for Curlew. Jalyna Castillo scored eight points for Cusick.

Valley Christian 58, Wellpinit 55: Phoebe Trigsted scored a game-high 32 points and the Panthers (13-6, 10-4) beat the visiting Redskins (14-5, 9-5). Kendra Pope added six points with 16 rebounds for Valley Christian. Christina Flett scored 19 points and Ashlynn Hill and Jada Orr scored 12 points each to lead Wellpinit.

Pomeroy 48, Colfax 30: Sydney Smith and Emma Severs scored 12 points apiece and the Pirates (15-2) beat the Bulldogs (11-8) in a nonleague game. Skylre Sakamoto-Howell scored 11 points to lead Colfax.

Sandpoint 38, Lakeland 34: Maddie Morgan scored eight of her 11 points in the fourth quarter and the Bulldogs (5-13, 2-1) came from 11 down in the third to edge the visiting Hawks (8-10, 3-1) in a 4A Inland Empire League game. Dawson Driggs led Sandpoint with 14 points and six rebounds. Katy Ryan scored 15 points for Lakeland.

Bonners Ferry 44, Kellogg 43: Holly Ansley scored 28 points and the visiting Badgers (15-4, 4-2) defeated the Wildcats (8-10, 2-4) in a Intermountain League matchup. Hailey Cheneyey led Kellogg with 20 points, while teammate Cierra Brandt scored 10 points.

Timberlake 58, Priest River 15: Brooke Jessen scored 18 points and the visiting Tigers (18-2, 6-0) topped the Spartans (1-16, 0-6) in an Intermountain League game. Bernie Carhart added 11 points and Mckeeley Tonkin 10 for Timberlake.
