Driver airlifted to Spokane hospital after rollover crash in Colfax

UPDATED: Mon., July 8, 2019, 10:40 p.m.

A 23-year-old man was airlifted Sunday evening to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening after a rollover crash in Colfax.

Emergency crews found Kyle A. Peterson, of Seatac, Washington, trapped inside his 1999 Ford Explorer, which was upside-down on the side of Colfax Airport Road.

The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office said the SUV was traveling east when Peterson overcorrected and veered across the westbound lane, rolling several times before coming to rest on its top.

The sheriff’s office said fatigue appeared to be a factor in the crash.
