10 years after his death, racers from around the region will gather Saturday to honor former stock car standout Dick Barton.

The Dick Barton Memorial Race begins at 7 p.m. at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls. Three classes will race on the figure-8 track with trophies awarded to the top three in each class.

Four members of the Barton family will compete, while other family members will be on hand to present the trophies.

Born in Spokane, Barton raced around the region throughout the 1960s and ’70s before jumping to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in 1972.
