Robert Franks earned another postseason accolade Thursday, being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District 20 First Team.

The Washington State forward earned the award for the first time in his career and he becomes the first Cougars to snag it since Josh Hawkinson was selected to the second team in 2017.

A WSU player hasn’t been named to the first team since Brock Motum in 2012. Before that, Klay Thompson (2010 and 2011), Derrick Low (2008), Kyle Weaver (2007 and 2008), Isaac Fontaine (1996 and 1997), Mark Hendrickson (1996), Terrence Lewis (1992) and Brian Quinnett (1989), each picked up the first-team honor.

The NABC splits up all Division I schools into 25 districts. District 20 consists of Pac-12 schools only. Franks was joined on the first team by Oregon State’s Tres Tinkle, Utah’s Sedrick Barefield and Washington’s Matisse Thybulle and Jaylen Nowell.

Franks was named to the All-Pac-12 First team after averaging a conference-leading 21.6 points per game as a senior. He finished his career ninth all-time at WSU in 3-pointers (166) and was tied for fourth with his scoring average of 21.6 ppg. He’s ninth on WSU’s single-season scoring list with 583 points and 14th in career points with 1,349.
