Both parties guilty

I’m a liberal Democrat. Mr. Dixon’s letter (March 3) had some valid points. Many Democrats rushed to judgement not only in the Jussie Smollett case but also in the erroneous assumption about the Catholic school kids in D.C. Personally, I think both incidents purposely created lies to further anger toward President Trump’s supporters and Mr. Trump.

I do wonder though about the hypocrisy. Where is the anger over a president who lies every time he opens his mouth? A president who admires dictators. A president who supported Roy Moore. I know it’s easier to just follow opinions than to actually check the facts. Ronald Reagan said trust, but verify. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan said you’re entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts. Both parties are guilty in believing what’s worst about the other and that is true - not opinion.
