Grocery Outlet to open new store in Cheney

Construction will begin later this year for a new Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Cheney.

Dan Dover of Texas-based Main & Main Capital Group LLC filed an application to build the store at 2603 First St.

The 16,456-square-foot store is expected to be open by late 2020, according to the application filed with the city.

Grocery Outlet, founded in the 1940s as an “extreme-value” retailer, has more than 300 locations in California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington. The company announced plans last year to build 25 new stores, with 14 of those to open in Los Angeles.
