Gonzaga forward Killian Tillie won’t be attending the NBA Draft Combine after all.

Tillie, Auburn’s Chuma Okeke and Virginia’s De’Andre Hunter withdrew from the combine, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony tweeted Monday afternoon. Okeke has opted to stay in the draft, according to Givony, but no reason was given for Tillie’s and Hunter’s absences.

Tillie is probably still healing after suffering a sprained ankle during a May 3 workout for the Atlanta Hawks. The French native told reporters the injury didn’t appear to be serious, but he wasn’t able to complete the workout and was still limping last week after returning to Spokane.

The combine runs Tuesday through Sunday in Chicago, but apparently some player interviews were scheduled for Monday night.

The 6-foot-10, 220-pound Tillie missed 22 games last season with injuries to his right ankle and right foot. The latest injury was to his left ankle. In 84 career games at GU, Tillie has hit 47% beyond the 3-point arc while averaging 8.3 points and 4.5 rebounds.

Early entry players have until May 29 if they decide to pull out of the draft and return to school. Missing the combine erased an opportunity for Tillie to compete against the nation’s top players but the decision is understandable if he’s not able to put his best foot forward in front of NBA teams.

Tillie could still work out for NBA teams, if his ankle cooperates, leading up to the May 29 deadline.
