State baseball: Dalton Kentner pitches Almira/Coulee-Hartline into 1B State title game

Dalton Kentner struck out 15 with no walks over six innings and Almira/Coulee-Hartline (21-1) blanked Sunnyside Christian (15-7) in a 1B State semifinal at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla on Monday.

Grady Murray pitched a scoreless seventh for ACH, which faces Odessa in state championship game on Saturday at 4 p.m at Wheeler Field in Centralia.

Hayden Loomis went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Warriors.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 2, Evergreen Lutheran 1: Chase Gerard struck out 11 over six innings and gave up a run on three hits and the Warriors (20-1) eliminated the Eagles (13-4) in a first-round game earlier in the day.

Kentner earned the save with two Ks in the seventh.

Sunnyside Christian 4, Pomeroy 3: Ross Faber hit an RBI triple in the bottom of the eight to tie it, then scored on an overthrow to lift the Knights (16-6) over the Pirates (11-9) in a first-round game.

Faber’s two-run single in the sixth tied it at 2.
