Coeur d’Alene Casino names Laura Stensgar as acting director

The Coeur d’Alene Tribe has named Laura Stensgar as acting director of the Coeur d’Alene Casino following Francis SiJohn’s resignation as CEO last week.

“I am very thankful for the opportunity to serve my tribe and continue growing the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort into a world-class destination,” SiJohn said in a statement announcing his resignation. “For personal reasons, I have decided to take a break and focus on my family.”

SiJohn, who was named as CEO of Coeur d’Alene Casino in 2016, was recently recognized as an influential business leader by Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living magazine.

Stensgar has served in a number of leadership positions at the casino, most recently as director of marketing. She will assume the role of acting director until the Coeur d’Alene Tribe hires a permanent CEO.

The Coeur d’Alene Casino opened in 1993 and has more than 1,400 gaming machines. The property also contains more than 300 hotel rooms, six restaurants, spa, event center, gas station and the Circling Raven Golf Club.
