CdA’s secret jewel

Too many local residents are missing out on a true jewel right under their noses. I’ve thought about submitting this letter for quite some time.

As a 17-year veteran of the Coeur d’Alene Symphony, I’ve often wondered why a county with a 150,000 plus population can’t fill a 400-seat Kroc theater. We members of the orchestra have lately referred to ourselves as “the best kept secret in North Idaho.” We’ve heard in conversations, “I didn’t know Coeur d’Alene had a symphony orchestra.”

Under our new conductor Jan Pellant, we’ve attained the highest standards of performance, tackling some of the most challenging works written for an orchestra. Standing ovations are common. Attendees rave about performances.

C’mon, folks, we’re doing this for you! Look us up at cdasymphony.org, check the schedule, and get some very reasonably priced tickets for yourselves, your family and your friends.
