STA Plaza is safe

I am a 72-year-old female. I have owned a small business downtown, working in the surrounding area, and have worked at a prominent downtown location for the last 18 plus years. I have ridden Spokane Transit for most of my life. We gave up our car 30 plus years ago. I ride transit almost daily, to and from the downtown Plaza location. I have seldom seen crime - at least no more than any other location in the city. Young people offer to let me get on the bus first, hold doors open for me or step aside at automatic doors to let me pass first.

The video being discussed is, of course, produced by another “developer” who just wants to grab downtown property and can’t stand that Transit is sitting where it is on Riverside and Sprague. We, the people, pay more taxes than any of the developers in the area, but they think by turning the public’s opinion against it, they can grab what they want.

I have to say I feel safer around the Plaza than nearly anyplace else in Spokane. People’s fears are unfounded! Experience it for yourself.
