District 8 4A boys: Cole Omlin leads four in double figures as Ferris advances past Walla Walla

Cole Omlin scored 16 points and visiting seventh-seeded Ferris eliminated fourth-seeded Walla Walla (17-6) 65-62 in the District 8 4A tournament on Tuesday.

The Saxons (13-10) face Chiawana (21-2) in a loser-out on Friday at the Toyota Center in Kennewick – a rematch of their opening-round game won by the Riverhawks 67-64.

Wa-Hi (17-6) – ranked in the top dozen in state 4A all season – was led by Michael Cornish with 27 points.

Jackson Floyd and Zach Fleming scored 14 points apiece for Ferris and McCoy Spink added 12.

Chiawana 84, Mead 69: Taylor Perez scored 26 points and the second-seeded Riverhawks (22-2) eliminated the fifth-seeded Panthers (10-13).

Jayden Martinez scored 18 points and Kobe Young added 14 for Chiawana, which is ranked No. 5 in Class 4A. The Riverhawks outscored the Panthers 28-6 in the first quarter.

Ryan Mount led Mead with 18 points and Tyson Rogalette added 16.
