Driven by fear?
Just to make sure, you are suggesting our community votes to keep a candidate in office who is a bully and bigot, panders to racists, prevents immigration reform, tweets conspiracy theories, led poorly during a pandemic, and denies climate change? (Editorial, “Our picks for lieutenant governor, secretary of state,” Oct. 23) Did you read what you wrote before you hit the send button?
Stacey, maybe it’s time to resurrect that editorial board. I’ve got to wonder how the Spokesman staff felt when they saw what you wrote. Do they continue to work under the banner of a paper who endorsed someone who can’t stand journalists and demeans their hard work?
I understand better why Marc Thiessen is a regular contributor to the S-R. You should also reread Parker, Gerson and Will — who most certainly would not concur with you. I’m very curious what part of the “MAGA” agenda allows you to ignore reality? Possibly, it’s the uncomfortable feeling of hearing diverse voices yearning for justice and opportunity denied. Or maybe it’s a hot-button issue like crazy liberals coming to take everyone’s guns.
Your conclusions lead me to believe it may just be fear. Fear of things that may never happen but may make our country better if they did. Isn’t that after all what a democracy is, the common good of all citizens? We all have choices to make. Yours makes no sense to me. I voted Biden/Harris. Now I’m left deciding where to get Zag news and how best to live a life of hope not fear.
