The Sandpoint boys basketball team ran out of magic in the second half of its 4A state semifinal Friday.

Priest River also stumbled in a 3A semifinal.

Post Falls boys to state

The Post Falls boys basketball team stunned Lewiston at Lewiston to capture the 5A Region I championship and state berth. Coeur d’Alene stayed alive by knocking off Lake City. Here’s a link to my game story.

Idaho: Boys postseason

Postseason tournaments continue this week for North Idaho boys basketball teams, while wrestlers head to state, which will be held Friday and Saturday at Idaho State University’s Holt Arena.

Vikings victorious

I had computer issues Saturday and couldn’t post my story about the Coeur d’Alene High girls basketball team defending its 5A state title.

So here’s the story here.

The Coeur d’Alene and Lakeland girls basketball teams got off to good starts Thursday and Lake City, despite losing, played well. Not so much for Bonners Ferry and Timberlake.

Camille Reynolds, pictured above, led Lakeland with 18 points and five assists Thursday.

Good morning from Boise. I arrived at 8:15 after taking the oh-dark-30 to cover the girls state basketball tournaments.

Sanders changes mind

Lake City tight end/defensive end Billy Sanders changed his mind again, opting to sign with the University of Miami on Wednesday after declaring last week he was headed to UCLA.

Sanders originally gave Miami an oral commitment a year ago, but then decided to go to UCLA.

I’ll post more here later.

The Lewiston girls basketball team will be a difficult team to match up with when the 5A Region I tournament begins a week from Friday.
