Steve Adams has been a glassblower for over 30 years. The Spokesman-Review is starting a new series in the Home section highlighting artists who create unusual or decorative objects. It was a perfect match…a well-spoken, creative person with an abundance of visual elements to photograph. Adams led me through the process of creating a valentine-themed glass paperweight.
But first he laid down the law. No crossing over the painted yellow line. His work space required plenty of room to operate and he did not want to worry about visitors getting injured from the red-hot molten glass.
It was an amazing transformation from sand to finished product in about a half hour. Steve’s attention to detail and craftsmanship makes an interesting story for our readers to enjoy.
